The organization will use the grant to support its mission to help people to achieve victory over mental illness and substance use disorders through advocacy, education, training and services.
This grant is part of a nationwide initiative from the KPMG U.S. Foundation, awarding more than $2M this summer in multi-year grants to organizations focused on increasing education and mental well-being, and creating vibrant and healthy communities for all.
“We are very honored, and we are grateful to KPMG for choosing the Mental Health Association in New Jersey for this grant which will have a significant impact on our work. Their generous support will help us expand our advocacy and educational efforts. By engaging with people on a grassroots level across the state, we educate them about how to identify and begin to address mental health issues in the early stages to prevent more serious outcomes. It also helps to break the stigma of mental illness and substance use conditions that often keep people from seeking the help that they need,” stated Carolyn Beauchamp, MHANJ’s President and CEO.
The KPMG U.S. Foundation recognizes that mental well-being is a necessity for prosperity for all and is committed to creating awareness to reduce stigma, boosting access to mental health services, and supporting mental health practitioners.
