Immediate Action Alert
Mental health consumers in New
Jersey need to let our new governor know IMMEDIATELY that he should keep
Redirection II Intact
Background:
Redirection II is a plan out of the state Division of Mental Health
Services (DMHS) that calls for both a new and improved psychiatric
hospital at Greystone in Morris County AS WELL AS new funding for more
services in the community. DMHS has been working on Redirection II since
former Governor Whitman visited Greystone and issued a statement directing
the Division to either improve its deplorable conditions or close it.
Former Acting Governor Donald DiFrancesco froze the funds for this project.
With Governor McGreevey now facing a $3 billion deficit, we fear that
this funding may not be reinstated.
SIGN THIS PETITION (you can find it here) TO LET GOVERNOR MCGREEVEY HEAR FIRSTHAND FROM
VOTING CONSUMERS:
-
Consumers deserve a new and
improved psychiatric hospital.
-
Community services are vital
for recovery and to avoid hospitalization.
